Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2024 Subaru WRX?
The NHTSA records we reviewed show 25 recalls affecting WRX model years and components historically; those records include air bag inflator recalls, ignition switch issues, brake-system and brake-light switches, turbo intake/engine stalls, and an electrical subwoofer wiring recall. Although many entries apply to earlier WRX model years (2003–2016), the NHTSA data is authoritative and relevant to owners checking historical campaigns; Mike Shaw Subaru will verify whether your 2024 Subaru WRX is impacted. To confirm your vehicle's status, you can bring your VIN to our service center or schedule service online for a free recall eligibility check.
How do I check if my 2024 Subaru WRX has an open recall?
You can check recalls by entering your VIN at the NHTSA website or by contacting Mike Shaw Subaru for a free dealer VIN check. If you prefer dealer help, schedule service and we will run your VIN through Subaru and NHTSA databases at no charge; we use OEM diagnostic tools and factory-trained technicians to confirm any open campaigns. We also make it simple to learn about current offers—check our service specials and ask about service financing so you can get necessary work done now and pay later.
How much does a 2024 Subaru WRX recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs are performed free of charge to the vehicle owner when covered by the campaign. At Mike Shaw Subaru, recall repairs identified from NHTSA records or Subaru campaigns are completed using OEM parts and factory-trained technicians at no cost; any additional non-covered work will be quoted before authorization. If you need assistance, schedule appointment with our service team and ask about temporary loaner options, service specials, or our service financing application at pre-approval.
Can I get my 2024 Subaru WRX recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be performed by an authorized dealer to ensure OEM replacement parts and manufacturer-documented procedures are followed; Mike Shaw Subaru is your local certified Subaru dealer for recall repairs. Independent shops cannot always obtain OEM recall parts or technical bulletins directly from Subaru, which can affect safety and warranty compliance—bringing your vehicle to a franchise dealer protects safety, resale value, and compliance with manufacturer directives. For convenience, schedule service at Mike Shaw Subaru and we will confirm coverage and complete the free recall work using Subaru-approved parts and tools.
How long does a 2024 Subaru WRX recall repair take?
Most recall repairs are completed in a single service appointment, typically 1–4 hours depending on parts availability and the campaign's complexity. Some recalls may require parts ordering or special procedures; Mike Shaw Subaru will provide an estimated turnaround when you schedule service and will notify you immediately if additional time is needed. We recommend checking current timing and asking about loaner vehicles or local transportation options when you book your appointment; see current service specials.
Does an open recall affect my 2024 Subaru WRX's trade-in or resale value?
Yes—unresolved recalls can reduce buyer confidence and trade-in offers, and some buyers or dealers will require recall repairs before purchase. Mike Shaw Subaru completes recall repairs at no cost, which helps protect resale value and simplifies private sales or trade-ins; resolving recalls promptly prevents surprises during appraisal or sale. If you plan to trade or sell, start by getting a free recall check—schedule service or visit our trade-in page at sell your car online for an appraisal once recalls are cleared.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2024 Subaru WRX recall?
In most cases, recalls by themselves do not automatically fail a safety inspection, but certain recall defects (like brake issues or non-functioning brake lights) can create inspection failures if they affect safety systems. Because some Subaru campaigns in NHTSA records involve brake lights, brake-line corrosion, or air bag inflators, unresolved recalls that affect those systems could cause inspection issues in Colorado or neighboring states; Mike Shaw Subaru can verify and complete any required repairs. To avoid inspection delays, schedule service for a free recall check and take advantage of our service specials or financing options if additional non-recall maintenance is needed.
