Once again, the Crosstrek represents the better value since Audi recommends premium unleaded gasoline for maximum fuel efficiency while Subaru recommends regular unleaded for the Crosstrek. You're stuck with one transmission in the Q3, a 6-speed shiftable automatic, while you have the choice between a manual transmission and a CVT automatic in the Crosstrek. The most telling difference between these two crossovers is that all-wheel drive is standard on all Crosstrek models but is merely an option with the Q3.

Both the 2017 Crosstrek and the Q3 feature multiple airbags, a rearview camera, traction control, stability control and antilock brakes as standard equipment.
