What the service covers on the 2026 Subaru Crosstrek
The oil change service for the 2026 Subaru Crosstrek begins with draining the used engine oil and refilling it with the grade and capacity specified by the manufacturer. A new oil filter is installed to help capture contaminants as oil circulates through the engine. The oil life monitor is reset, and underhood fluid levels are checked during the visit. These steps address more than the oil’s appearance: engine oil gradually loses its additive package and its ability to carry heat and debris, which is why service timing follows mileage and time rather than how clean the oil looks.
An oil-change reminder light or mileage beyond the last service can indicate that maintenance is due. Dark or low oil on the dipstick, along with a ticking or louder engine note at startup, can also signal the need for attention. The manufacturer’s interval is every 6,000 miles for both the engine oil and oil filter. Drivers can schedule service with Mike Shaw Subaru so the visit is recorded in the vehicle’s history.
