What the service covers on the 2025 Subaru Ascent
The oil change service for the 2025 Subaru Ascent begins with draining the used engine oil and refilling the engine with the manufacturer-specified oil grade. A new oil filter is installed to support clean oil circulation, and the oil-life monitor is reset after service. The visit also includes a check of the underhood fluid levels. These steps matter because engine oil gradually loses its additive package and its ability to carry heat and debris. Oil can lose effectiveness long before it looks dirty, which is why the maintenance schedule is based on mileage and time rather than appearance.
An oil-change reminder light, mileage beyond the last service, or a dipstick reading that looks dark or low can indicate that service is due. A ticking sound or louder engine note at startup may also prompt an appointment. Subaru’s published interval for this model year is every 6,000 miles for both engine oil and the oil filter. Drivers can schedule service with Mike Shaw Subaru.
