Subaru Forester Oil Change service at Mike Shaw Subaru in Thornton, CO
All model years: Subaru Forester Oil Change
For the 2023 Subaru Forester, an oil change at Mike Shaw Subaru in Thornton, CO includes draining and refilling the engine oil with the grade and capacity specified by the manufacturer, installing a new oil filter, resetting the oil-life monitor, and checking underhood fluid levels. The manufacturer’s maintenance schedule calls for the engine oil and oil filter to be changed every 6,000 miles. Regular service helps the engine manage heat and debris as the oil’s additive package becomes less effective over time. What the service covers on the 2023 Subaru Forester
An oil change begins with draining the used engine oil and refilling the engine with the oil grade and capacity specified for the 2023 Subaru Forester. The service also includes a new oil filter, which helps capture contaminants as oil circulates through the engine. The oil-life monitor is reset after service, and underhood fluid levels are checked during the visit.
Engine oil gradually loses part of its additive package and its ability to carry heat and debris. Because that change happens before oil necessarily looks dirty, the manufacturer schedules this maintenance by mileage and time. For this model year, the published interval is every 6,000 miles for both the engine oil and oil filter.
An oil-change reminder light, mileage beyond the last service, dark or low oil on the dipstick, or a ticking or louder engine note at start-up can indicate that service is due. Drivers can schedule service with Mike Shaw Subaru.
