What the service covers on the 2023 Subaru Ascent
The oil change service for the 2023 Subaru Ascent begins with draining the used engine oil and refilling the engine with the oil grade and capacity specified by the manufacturer. A new oil filter is installed to support clean oil flow, and the oil life monitor is reset after service. Underhood fluid levels are also checked as part of the visit.
Engine oil gradually loses its additive package and its ability to carry heat and debris, even when it does not look dirty. That is why the manufacturer’s schedule uses mileage and time rather than appearance alone. For this model year, the oil and filter interval is every 6,000 miles.
An oil-change reminder light, mileage beyond the last service, dark or low oil on the dipstick, or a ticking or louder engine note at start-up can indicate that service is due. Drivers can schedule service with Mike Shaw Subaru to have the 2023 Subaru Ascent’s oil change completed and logged.
