What the service covers on the 2022 Subaru Ascent
An oil change for the 2022 Subaru Ascent begins with draining the existing engine oil and refilling the engine with the oil grade and capacity specified by the manufacturer. The service also includes a new oil filter, a reset of the oil life monitor, and a check of the underhood fluid levels. These steps address more than the oil’s appearance. Engine oil gradually loses its additive package and its ability to carry heat and debris, which is why maintenance follows mileage and time rather than visual condition.
The 2022 Subaru Ascent may be due for service when the oil-change reminder light appears or when mileage has passed the last oil service. Dark or low oil on the dipstick, along with a ticking or louder engine note at startup, can also signal that an oil change should be scheduled. The manufacturer’s interval for this model year is every 6,000 miles for both engine oil and the oil filter. Drivers can schedule service with Mike Shaw Subaru.
