What the service covers on the 2016 Subaru WRX
The oil change service for the 2016 Subaru WRX begins with draining the engine oil and refilling it with the grade and capacity specified by the manufacturer. A new oil filter is installed to help capture contaminants, while the oil-life monitor is reset and underhood fluid levels are checked. These steps document the visit and support consistent maintenance for the vehicle.
Engine oil gradually loses its additive package and its ability to carry heat and debris, even before it appears dirty. That is why the maintenance schedule is based on mileage and time rather than appearance alone. The manufacturer's published schedule for the 2016 Subaru WRX calls for replacing the engine oil and oil filter every 6,000 miles.
An oil-change reminder light, mileage beyond the last service, dark or low oil on the dipstick, or a ticking or louder engine note at startup can indicate that service is due. Owners can schedule service with Mike Shaw Subaru to have the visit completed and logged against the vehicle's history.
