Mike Shaw Subaru, located in Thornton, is selling fraudulent pre-certified vehicles to unsuspecting customers. I purchased a 2011 Legacy from them last Saturday. The oil light on the car was on when I took it for a test drive. The salesman told me not to worry. After purchasing the car, I had the Subaru mechanic at the dealership check the oil and it was 1.5 quarts low, so he filled it. The next day I noticed an oil leak. As I was returning the car to the dealership, the engine blew out and I was stranded on the side of highway 66 in Longmont. After being picked up by a tow truck and driven to the dealership, I spoke with the GM of the store, Dan Pham. When I stated the facts to Dan and told him I was reporting the dealership to the State Attorney General, he threatened to screw me out of $22000 and not give me a refund. He also threatened not to give me a refund if I did not remove my complaint with the Better Business Bureau. After agreeing to move the negative comments, he gave me a refund, but refused to give me a loaner car or arrange for a ride for me to my job in Fort Collins, so I had to walk 50+ miles to my office down highway 25.

I'm not a big reviewer, but they are apparently powerful so I thought I'd share my car buying experience with Jamie. When I walked on the lot I had a good feeling about her. She was helpful, non-aggressive, and you could tell she wasn't trying to rip you off. I really appreciate that. I came in to look at a 2001 Subaru Forester and she took me and my friend for a test drive to get a feel for the car. We sat down so I could decide if I wanted it and we walked through the carfax. It was in great shape and you could tell the previous owners took care of it. Instead of her focusing on the price aspect (i.e. It's a great deal! You have to have it! Priced to sell! Someone will come in and take it!), she talked to me at lengths about the safety and quality aspects. She wanted to sell me a good car that I would feel safe and comfortable driving in. I'm really happy with it. As part of the negotiation, the check engine light was on in the car and she arranged for the mechanics to take care of it right away. Nothing was wrong with the car, it was just an old sensor that needed to be replaced ($500 value!). She fixed the sensor, detailed it, and shaved a bit off the price in order to cut me a deal. The car buying experience was pretty good if you ask me. I just have to say that Jamie really cares about her customers and goes above and beyond to make sure we walk away happy and satisfied.

I worked with Jose for about a month on a car I planned to order. Out of the four dealership, Mike Shaw had the cheapest price. About a week after I received my pricing, my car died so I needed to bought a car off of the lot instead of ordering one. I called the number provided by Jose and got his voice mail. I stated I was planning to buy in the next few days, cash in hand and to call me back to setup an appointment. I never heard back.....this cost Subaru a sale as I bought a car from a different brand.

We made an appointment to see a car we saw on the internet. When we arrived, we did not like the car. Cliff mentioned leasing so I decided to listen to what he had to say. I did not decide to lease, but I did leave that night as the owner of a brand new Forester that was on the showroom floor. He was honest and very easy to work with. There was no pressure and he did not promise anything he could not deliver. I got 2.9% financing and an awesome car. Cliff got a customer for the rest of his career. I have sent one other person who was in the market to buy a car from him. He was not in so they did buy a car. Their experience was good, but not great like ours was with Cliff. Thanks!

My husband and I made an appointment to come into Mike Shaw Subaru to look at used cars. We brought a Ford to trade in and felt the trade in price was fair. The staff was friendly and professional. We test drove a few vehicles and asked a lot of questions. Shawn and Cliff were able to answer all of them and didn't put any pressure on us. They were knowledgeable, professional and made sure we were getting the information and car that suited our needs. We drove out in a new Forestor and were completely satisfied with our purchase and experience. Marc in finance was equally professional and knowledgeable. I have heard horror stories about walking in and out of dealerships just to get a price or car that is suitable. We didn't deal with this at all. The staff were honest and actually cared that we were satisfied with the service and products. Cliff has called to follow up since and we are happy with our purchase as well as the level of care and service we received from everyone there. I would highly recommend this dealership and will return if I need another car.

I have purchased my last 2 cars from Mike Shaw Subaru. A 2006 Outback Sport and my current 2008 Impreza WRX STi. From the first time I walked into Mike Shaw, everyone has always been very friendly and courteous. During this specific visit, a "Check Engine" light has came on in my STi. I called and spoke to Ryan Smith, who stated that if I stopped by after I got off work he'd read the code for me for free. The code came up as a "System Too Lean" after we looked at this, he asked me a few questions about how the car had been running recently. After the brief discussion he stated that as the car had been running fine, and this can sometimes be caused by a brief bit of gunk on the fuel injectors or some such, that he could clear the message and if it comes back he'd make an appointment to get it looked at further. Couple days later the light came back, I called him that morning and Ryan was very diligent in working around my schedule to make an appointment and provide me with a loaner. When I dropped my car off Dustin checked me in, as Ryan was caught up on a phone call. I had dealt with Dustin before, and he also has always been very nice and understanding. The problem turned out to be a MAF sensor going bad. They advised to replace it, which they did. However, they quoted me a price of just the part, not adding the labor onto it. When I picked up my car the honored the quoted price they had provided me and did not charge for the labor. Mike Shaw is one of the few places I trust with my car when I'm not able to perform what ever maintenance needs to be done.

We were waiting for the release of the 2013 Subaru Outback. We visited this dealership to see the new model. We were impressed by Jose's professionalism in answering all of our questions and we felt no pressure in buying our car that day. My husband and I discussed it and decided that we would definitely buy our car from Jose that day. Everyone was very friendly. We agreed on a price and everything went very smoothly. We brought our car back for the clearcoat bra and tinted windows. That was also done very quickly. I think I was most impressed by the way they contacted me after the sale. I had an email from the Sales Manager thanking me for my business and to contact him if I had any questions or problems. Jose called me a few days after my purchase to see if I had any questions and if I was happy with the purchase. I also received a thank you card from Jose later that week. I feel that Mike Shaw Subaru wants you to be happy with your purchase so that you will come back and buy from them again, or, to recommend someone else to them. Which, I will definitely do.

Bought my 2012 Subaru at Mike Shaw. The reason I came back to Mike Shaw was Peter Seabrook. I have worked with Peter twice now. He does not try to BS me. (Can't really think of a more PC way to say that.) Not pushy. Worked with me in my price range but made sure to show me some other items I might be interested in. As far as servicing, I do not always make it there for oil changes as there is somewhere closer to the house. But I do I love coming to Mike Shaw for service because of the service, the facility, and the Wifi. When I come for service, I can log into my office PC and work while waiting. BIG PLUS for us computer geeks. Also, Kathy Nerka is more than helpful. In fact, everyone there is always helpful. My wife will be wanting a new car sooner rather than later, and we will be coming back to see Peter when she is ready.
